  3. So good! I’m sure it is simple but how DO you take that kind of photo? The white background. The lighting. Send this to Annie Leibovitz!

    • Yeah, it’s simple. It’s just a really big piece of white paper in a roll, hanging from a high bracket and then pulled out several feet into the room, to make a curve, so you don’t get a line where floor and wall intercept. The lighting is a flash unit, like you see stuck on top of cameras, in a small “soft box,” which is an enclosure that diffuses the light, pointing down at his face and torso at a 45 degree angle, then another flash unit focused at his feet and legs from down low and pointing straight at him. Annie L does similar stuff with that soft box hanging over the subject, tho it also helps to have Keith Richards as your subject.
