  2. Very nice. Stairs are a great place for portrait photography.

    • Thanks, Tim. They’re the only place in my little house I can fit eight, and even that meant borrowing a wide. These shots were when I was checking the coverage from the two speed lights.

      • I’m a firm believer in natural light when I can get it. It looks much more natural.

        • Me, too. I have a hard time figuring out what to do with the added lights. It gets way too complicated in a hurry.

          • I’ve heard that flash when set correctly and pointed in the right direction can be great for fill light. I would guess that when photographing at mid-day in full sunlight that a fill light would fill in the dark shadows. This is especially true if someone is wearing a hat. You ask the question, “Have you tried this, Tim”? My reply, “No, but…”.

    • My contribution in all matters was limited, it goes almost without saying. Even so, I agree. 🙂

      Merry Boxing Day.

    • Happy Boxing Day, Mala. My lovely friends Sari and Dori are visiting in California for the school holidays. And Mike and Jake were home for the holidays. We were all happy.
